About Special Ed Fox

Ed Fox is the epitome of what Americans think of when they visualize an Australian. He greets others with a friendly, “G’day, mate,” he’s frequently seen wearing an authentic Aussie Bush hat, and he loves a good pun. Basically, when Ed Fox enters the room, people take notice. His positive personality and enthusiasm is contagious.

The novelty of being an Aussie in the U.S. serves him well in his role as CEO of Tradebank in Nashville, Tennessee and Tradebank of Wichita, Kansas. As the owner of these two thriving barter exchange networks, he helps businesses trade their products or services in order to get what they need or want, without spending cash. Ed, along with his wife Alice, first got involved with Tradebank in 2013, and they’ve been franchise owners ever since. He understands the value of a national and regional barter network that can offset business expenses, such as dental care, advertising and marketing, accounting, security, landscaping, etc. Bartering also gives business owners the opportunity to treat their employees to perks, such as movie tickets, restaurant gift cards, auto detailing and more.

Ed’s been an entrepreneur since he was 15 and started a general store in his hometown of Grafton, New South Wales, Australia. He attributes the store’s success to his parents offering to become his business partners. Together they grew it into a million dollar business. From that point forward, he’s been a lifelong entrepreneur with a passion for helping other business owners live up to their potential, and grow their businesses and professional networks.

In 1989, Ed met his wife Alice while working at a duty-free store in Brisbane, Australia. She thought he was funny, and she asked him out to dinner. A short time later, Ed visited the U.S. to see whether she was the love of his life. He told her she was the smartest women he’d met, and she had great taste in men! Alice rolled her eyes at him and that’s when he knew it was meant to be. Alice and Edward have been married more than 32 years and have three children.

When he’s not working, Ed enjoys sharing dad jokes on his TikTok channel, @specialedfoxdadjokes.
